Water Damage in Finished Basement
When this customer in Dauphin County had a pipe break in their finished basement 3 weeks prior to their scheduled settlement and planned move to a different state, they did the smart thing and called SERVPRO of Shippensburg/Perry County!
We arrived on scene the same day and began the mitigation process. This was a Category 1 water loss, meaning it was clean water. Living up to our reputation of restoring rather than replacing whenever possible, we floated the carpet after removing the carpet cushion. We performed a ‘base cut’ removing drywall below the top of the baseboard which minimizes time and expense for the customer and the insurance company. We removed wet insulation and with dehumidification and air movement we dried the structure. Due to the impending closing we had our in-house rebuild team replace the insulation, drywall and carpet cushion. We then painted the walls and baseboards and re-installed the carpeting.
